The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Rehabilitation (DGAPR) announced the escape of an inmate incarcerated in local Tangier I prison, this Saturday, August 10th at 6 am, in a statement relayed by the MAP.

“The DGAPR initiated a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the prisoner’s escape and take necessary actions,” states the same source.

According to local media, the escaped is a young prisoner aged 27, from the Tangier region. He was serving a 12-year prison sentence for forming a criminal gang, assaults, and violence.

The young man is said to have managed to escape after breaking the bars of his cell and reaching the prison’s roof.
