Speaking at a press conference after his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, Silva said that the initiative of “very serious and credible” autonomy presented by Morocco contributes to advancing the process of settling this regional dispute.

“The Portuguese position vis-à-vis this regional dispute is known. We hope that the process under the auspices of the United Nations and the recommendations and resolutions of the Security Council will take place with the prospect of achieving concrete results,” he said.

On an official visit to Morocco, the head of Portuguese diplomacy pleaded in favor of a “realistic, sustainable and pragmatic” solution, which counts with the commitment of the parties concerned.
