American Airlines expands its international destinations and will start its first regular flight to Morocco in June 2020. When American starts its new route to Morocco next year, it will be the company’s first flight towards Africa.
On a press release published yesterday, Vasu Raja, American’s VP of Network and Schedule Planning stated that:
“Our customers and team members have been asking when we’re going to start service to Africa, and I couldn’t be more pleased to make this announcement for service beginning in 2020,”Vasu Raja, American’s VP of Network and Schedule Planning
According to American Airlines, the company plans to expand its connections within the African continent as Royal Air Maroc should join oneworld® in next year’s January.
Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Maroc, already operates several direct flights to the United States, namely to New York, Washington D.C., Miami and Boston. Starting from next summer, American will become the only U.S. airline with three nonstop flights per week from Philadelphia to Casablanca on a Boeing 757.
